Mobile Training App for Latino Dementia Caregivers

Start: July 1, 2020
End: June 30, 2023
Enrollment: 60

What Is This Study About?

This study will test the effectiveness of an interactive training app that is culturally adapted for Latino caregivers of people with dementia. The smartphone app will adapt an in-person caregiver training program, called STAR-C, that provides family caregivers with information and skills to manage dementia behavioral and psychological symptoms. Latino caregivers will be randomly assigned to receive access to the app for two months or serve in a comparison group without access to the app. Researchers will assess the acceptability and effectiveness of the app by tracking its use and using questionnaires to measure changes in caregiver burden and depression.
