Self-Care for Caregivers of People With Frontotemporal Degeneration

Start: December 14, 2020
End: November 3, 2021
Enrollment: 30

What Is This Study About?

Behavioral variant frontotemporal dementia (bvFTD) involves progressive changes in personality, behavior, emotions, and judgment. Caring for someone with bvFTD can be hard, both physically and emotionally. This study will test the effectiveness of an online health coaching program designed to reduce stress and improve self-care for caregivers of people with bvFTD. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the online health coaching program and health information, or only the health information. All materials will be delivered on a computer tablet. Researchers will assess caregiver stress, self-care, and well-being at the start of the study and again after one month, three months, and six months.
