Brain Enhancement Training Toward Elders' Resilience to Aging

What Is This Study About?

This clinical trial will test an experimental software program designed to improve cognitive function in older adults with age-related cognitive decline.

Do I Qualify To Participate in This Study?

Minimum Age: 65 Years

Maximum Age: N/A

Must have:

  • Fluent English speaker
  • Adequate sensorimotor capacity to perform the program, including ability to read from a computer screen at a normal viewing distance, hear and understand normal speech, and control a computer mouse

Must NOT have:

  • Evidence of dementia
  • Any medical illnesses, injuries, or conditions predisposing participant to imminent functional and/or cognitive decline
  • Requires caregiver assistance in dressing or personal hygiene
  • Severe visual or hearing deficits
  • Participation in computer-delivered cognitive training within past 2 years
  • Claustrophobia or any other contraindication to MRI scanning; inability to complete a 1-hour MRI
  • Pregnancy
  • Implanted devices above the waist (e.g., cardiac pacemaker or auto-defibrillator, neural pacemaker, aneurysm clip, cochlear implant, metallic bodies in the eye or central nervous system, any form of wires or metal devices that may concentrate radio frequency fields)
  • Active suicidal ideation with specific plan and intent or suicide-related behaviors within past 2 months
